The scam in government schemes in Barkagaon North Panchayat of Madwan block of the district has opened the eyes of the state government. In order that such cases do not recur, the Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department, Arvind Kumar Chaudhary has issued instructions to all the DMs. In this the order of Lokayukta has been cited in the said case. It was said in the order that the administrative department should keep a strict vigil and conduct annual audit of all the schemes. The Principal Secretary has asked to regularly inspect the office of Zilla Parishad, Gram Panchayat, Panchayat Samiti member and their activities.
The benefit of Indira Awas Yojana has been given
It is to be known that in the year 2012 in Barkagaon North Panchayat, Mukhiya and Panchayat Secretary had given benefits of all schemes to their loved ones. Tell the poor who was given the benefit of Indira Awas Yojana, showing him several acres of land and gave him the benefit of diesel subsidy. Government funds were also scammed by forgery in old age pension. Social activist Tanveer Alam complained about the matter to the Lokayukta. When the investigation started, layer by layer opened up. The Lokayukta ordered action against the then Mukhiya and Panchayat Secretary along with recovery of the amount of the scam. Along with this, even after the disturbance, he also made serious remarks about the negligence of the administrative and police officers in the investigation.
regular inspection of panchayat offices
After the issue of this order, the Panchayati Raj Department said in the instructions that the BDO and Block Panchayat Raj Officers would regularly inspect the Panchayat offices. In this, arrangements for keeping all records including office building, cash book, check book, execution of work, preparation of report on the proceedings of the meeting of Gram Sabha will be given to the District Panchayati Raj Officer. Similarly, the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti offices are also to be inspected.
