Mahant Narendra Giri, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, died under suspicious circumstances in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on Monday. His body was found in his room at Shri Math Baghambri Gaddi located in Allapur area of the city. How did the death happen? It is not yet clear but his body has been found hanging from the noose. An eight-page suicide note was also recovered from the body. Narendra Giri, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, the largest organization of saints, used to worry about Bihar along with the country. Expressing happiness over the victory of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, he wished Nitish Kumar good luck.
NDA got a big victory in Bihar assembly elections 2020. At that time the NDA had captured 127 seats in the 243-member assembly. The BJP-JDU were part of the NDA in the elections held last year. On NDA's victory, Akhara Parishad President Narendra Giri had said that people have voted in the name of nationalism and Ram temple.

While praising the leadership of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he said that the public has trusted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). A large number of leaders expressed grief over his absence. On the death of Giri, Bihar BJP President Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal said that the death of Shri Mahant of Panchayati Akhara Shri Niranjani, Peethadhipati of Baghambri Gaddi Prayagraj and President of Akhara Parishad Narendra Giri is extremely painful.
