On Thursday night, the jail management admitted to the Sadar Hospital for treatment after the condition of the undertrial prisoner lodged in Supaul Mandal Jail deteriorated. Due to a security lapse in the hospital, the detainee managed to escape from the ward by breaking the window in the intervening midnight of Thursday-Friday, dodging the policeman posted. On the information of the incident, the jail administration including the Sadar police station has started searching for the prisoner.

According to the information, the accused of Chhattapur police station case number 391/21, Mohammad Hazrat, resident of Chhattapur ward number-13, was arrested by the Chhattapur police on March 19 in the motorcycle robbery case. He was kept in jail after he was produced before the court on March 20. According to the jail administration, the prisoner was having pain in his stomach. He was admitted to Sadar Hospital for treatment.

According to the doctor posted in the hospital, the prisoner was admitted to the Sadar Hospital. The said prisoner was also shifted by the jail administration to the prisoner ward of Sadar Hospital. Four police personnel including a police officer were stationed here for security. Let us inform that two prisoners were undergoing treatment in the said prisoner ward since about a week ago.

The prisoner escaped at around 12 midnight on Thursday by cutting the iron window in front of the bathroom in the ward through the way behind Hajat. After the prisoner escaped, there was a stir in the police department. Several police teams are searching for the prisoner. Jail Superintendent Omprakash Shanti Bhushan said that the accused of Chhatrapur police station case number 391,392/21 was lodged in jail on March 20. After complaining of stomach pain, he was sent to Sadar Hospital for treatment.
