According to FM Sitharaman, 43 crore loans of Rs 22.5 lakh cr were given out as part of the PM Mudra Yojana

NEW DELHI: According to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the government has granted 43 crore loans of Rs 22.5 lakh crore under the PM Mudra Yojana on Thursday. In her pre-election Budget, often known as an interim budget or vote on account, Sitharaman claimed that savings of Rs 2.7 lakh crore had been achieved by direct benefit transfer of Rs 34 lakh crore through Jan Dhan accounts.

The finance minister said that in the last ten years, women had received 30 crore loans under the Mudra Yojana.
She said that the saturation method, which covers all eligible individuals, is a real and thorough accomplishment of social justice and represents secularism in action.
She also said that India now boasts 80 grandmasters in chess, up from only 20 in 2010.
