According to authorities, the Arvind Kejriwal administration's annual budget for the fiscal year 2023–2024 would place the most emphasis on the education and health sectors.

The education sector earned the largest allocation in the Delhi Budget for 2022–23, at Rs. 16,278 crore, a little decrease from the previous fiscal budgeted expenditure of Rs. 16,377 crore.

The budget for 2022–2023 included Rs 9,769 crore to health, up from Rs 9,934 crore in the last year.

All instructors, including vice principals and principals of Delhi government schools, permanent, contractual, guest, and temporary vice principals, would get new tablets, according to government authorities.

"In 2021, the Dr. Ambedkar Schools of Specialized Excellence (SoSE) opened its doors. In the next fiscal year, this will be raised to 37, with a capacity for around 10,000 youngsters "an official said.

According to the official, in order to strengthen children's fundamental abilities, Delhi government schools will collaborate closely with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's feeder schools. Regarding expanding healthcare facilities, Mohalla Clinics will provide 450 free diagnostic tests, up from 250 now.

The source said, "Building of nine new Delhi government hospitals is ongoing, and four will be opened next year." There are plans to significantly raise the number of beds in Delhi government hospitals from 14,200 to 30,000, he said. "15 current hospitals, including Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya, will also be expanded," he said.

The government's budget outlay for 2023–24 may be close to Rs 80,000 crore with increased tax income, and sources stated on Thursday that infrastructure projects will get "the greatest" allocation for capital expenditures.

The budget for the Delhi government in 2022–2023 was Rs. 75,800 crore, compared to Rs. 69,000 crore the year before.

This time, the budget will be presented by Finance Minister Kailash Gahlot on March 21 and will be followed by a government Outcome Budget.

When Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister, resigned due to his detention by the CBI in connection with the Delhi excise policy fraud, Gahlot was handed control of the finance department.
