Beginning on January 25, Akasa Air will operate daily flights from Hyderabad to Bengaluru and Goa

Akasa Air stated on Tuesday that as of January 25 it would conduct daily flights between Hyderabad and Goa as well as between Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Starting on February 15, there will be two more frequencies between Hyderabad and Bengaluru, according to the airline.

"Starting operations from Hyderabad, our 13th destination with daily flights to Goa and Bengaluru further enhances our foothold in southern India," said Akasa Air co-founder and chief commercial officer Praveen Iyer.

Belson Coutinho, co-founder of Akasa Air and its chief marketing and experience officer, said: "Bringing the Akasa experience to Hyderabad makes us delighted. We look forward to developing and providing our cherished consumers with unforgettable travel experiences as we link places, people, and cultures."

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, a late stock market investor, and aviation industry veteran Vinay Dube formed Akasa Air, which began operations in August 2022.

By starting the flights to Hyderabad, the airline would have around 575 weekly flights on a total of 21 announced routes between 14 cities, they said.

According to them, the airline will keep expanding its network to create a strong pan-India presence with an emphasis on connecting metro areas to tier 2 and tier 3 cities. This effort would be aided by a fleet expansion plan that calls for the addition of a new aircraft every 15 days.

By the end of March 2023, Akasa Air's fleet size, which is now 14 aircraft, will increase to 18. Over the following four years, the airline will add 54 more aircraft, bringing its overall fleet size to 72 aircraft, they said.
