Bengaluru news: From tomorrow, there will be disruptions to train services between Bangalore and Mangaluru; See all the information here

Almost all trains between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, as well as several additional trains on various days between December 14 and 22, are scheduled to be canceled by South Western Railway (SWR). Through a post on X, SWR announced that it will be remodeling the yard at Hassan Junction Railway Station.

The adoption of pre-non-interlocking for five days, from December 14 to December 18, has been authorized by the Railway Ministry. The Principal Chief Operations Manager of SWR issued a notice that said. The announcement also said that Hassan’s yard would be non-interlocked for remodeling for four days, from December 19 to December 22.

SWR will be able to accept and dispatch trains in all four directions, including Arsikere, Nelamangala (Bengaluru), Mysuru, and Mangaluru, thanks to the interlocking upgrade from Standard 1 to 3.

Line, signal, and telecommunication blocks will be in place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. from December 14 to December 18. As a result, during this time, no rail lines in Hassan will be open for train operations.

There will be no rail service from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 19 and 22 due to engineering maintenance, which will result in a traffic jam.

Train cancellations

Throughout this remodeling project, the Bengaluru-Kannur-Bengaluru and Bengaluru-Karwar-Bengaluru Panchaganga Express overnight services will remain suspended.

From December 16 to 20, Train No. 16511 Bengaluru-Kannur will not operate.

From December 16 to December 20, the Bengaluru-Karwar Panchaganga Express train number 16595 will not operate.

Train Nos. 16512 and 16596, which pair with the aforementioned trains, will not operate between December 17 and December 21.

On December 14, 17, 19, and 21, the Yesvantpur-Mangaluru Junction Gomateshwara tri-weekly express (train number 16575) would not run.

On December 15, 18, 20, and 22, the partnering train (16576) of the aforementioned train will not be in service.

The Yesvantpur-Karwar tri-weekly express train number 16515 will not run on December 13, 15, 18, 20, and 22.

On December 14, 16, 19, 21, and 23, the Karwar-Yesvantpur tri-weekly train, number 16516, would not run.

On December 16 and 17, respectively, the Yesvantpur-Mangaluru Junction weekly express train number 16539/16540 would not run.

Train service that is available

During this time, the following train services will continue to run for travelers wishing to travel from Bengaluru to coastal Karnataka:

Railway Number 16585/16586 During this time, the sole train that connects the State capital to the coast would run from Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal in Bengaluru to Murdeshwar. However, it will avoid Mysuru and follow other routes.
From December 14 to 16, the aforementioned train will run via the Yesvantpur bypass, Nelamangala, Shravanabelagola, and Hassan, bypassing the stations of Bengaluru City, Mandya, and Mysuru, according to The Hindu.
Additionally, from December 17 to 22, these trains will miss the Mysuru route and instead go via the Yesvantpur bypass, Tumakuru, Arsikere, and Hassan.
