Branches will be closed on 16 of the bank holidays in October,See complete list

Due to holidays, Sundays, and the second and fourth Saturdays in October, banks may be closed for as long as 16 days. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announces bank holidays, which are divided into “national” (all branches are closed) and “regional” (for state-specific festivities).

Branches are closed nationwide on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays.

Sunday, October 1

Monday, October 2 is Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday.

Mahalaya (West Bengal); Second Saturday, October 14

Sunday, October 15

Wednesday, October 18: Kati Bihu (Assam)

On October 21 (a Saturday), Assam, Manipur, Tripura, and West Bengal celebrate Durga Puja (Maha Saptami).

Sunday, October 22nd

On October 23 (Monday), Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Kerala, Nagaland, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal celebrate Dussehra (Maha Navami), Ayudha Pooja, Durga Puja, and Vijaya Dasami.

Tuesday, October 24: Durga Puja (everywhere save Andhra Pradesh and Manipur) and Dussehra (Vijaya Dashami).

Durga Puja (Dasain) on October 25 (Wednesday) in Sikkim

Thursday, October 26 is Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir’s Accession Day and Durga Puja (Dasain).

Friday, October 27: Dasain/Durga Puja in Sikkim

Lakshmi Puja (West Bengal); Second Saturday is on October 28 (Saturday).

November 1: Saturday

Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary is on October 31 (Tuesday) in Gujarat.
