EV Sales May 2023: Over 1.5 Lakh Units Sold, 42% M-o-M Growth Registered

Customers began favoring electric cars over internal combustion engines as a result of the increase in gasoline costs and government initiatives. These decisions also had an impact on the M-o-M sales of EVs, which saw a respectable increase of 42 percent in May and sold over 1,57,217 units.

In terms of year-over-year, the reports also said that the sales statistics grew by 135%, which is greater than the same month last year. Highest EV Registration States and Cities in May

Maharashtra led all cities, states, and UTs in EV registration this month, pushing Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh down to second and third, respectively.

According to statistics provided by Vahaan, India has achieved HS E2W sales of one lakh units for the first time. Overall HS E2W sales in the nation grew last month by 57 percent month over month to 1,04,755 units.

In the meanwhile, Ola Electric, India’s biggest manufacturer of electric two-wheelers, had its highest-ever monthly sales and rose to the position of top contributor. This month, the business has sold over 28,437 items. Ather Motors comes in third, Bajaj Auto takes the fourth slot, while TVS drops to second place. However, Battre Electric was successful in getting its name included as one of this month’s top 10 sales contributors.
