Finance Minister: Government will establish housing project for worthy middle class

NEW DELHI: The finance minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, said on Thursday that the government will start a housing initiative to help the middle class who deserve it construct or purchase a home.

In her pre-election Budget, commonly known as an interim budget or a vote on account, Sitharaman said that the government would also take an economic stance that promotes productivity gains and sustainable development.
She also spoke about rooftop solarization, which will provide 300 units of free power every month for one crore households, saving them between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 18,000 a year.
The government will use the infrastructure of current hospitals to establish new medical colleges, according to the finance minister.
In addition, the development of the eastern area and its people would get top priority.
