Hyundai Creta crosses 5 lakh sales mark in domestic market amid epidemic

New Delhi.  Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) said on Tuesday that its SUV Creta had crossed the sales figure of five lakh cars in the domestic market overall. The company has said that its Creta has been the best-selling SUV for three consecutive months in May, June and July this year. A new version of Hyundai's Creta was launched in March this year. "Creta has been the most popular model in the Indian automobile industry since its release in 2015," HMIL Director (Sales, Marketing and Services) Tarun Garg said in a statement.

Garg said that the model has set a new record in the SUV industry with the Creta having achieved a sales figure of half a million. It has once again established its leadership in the SUV category. He said that the company is continuously strengthening its portfolio by bringing out the best products in every category. The company has four other products in the SUV category - the new Creta, Venue, Tucson and Krona Electric - selling from April to July. There have been 34,212 units. Hyundai's new Creta has received more than 65,000 bookings since its launch in the market in March 2020. Demand for diesel vehicles continues to be high. It is currently at 60 per cent, reflecting strong demand for Hyundai's diesel BS6 technology.
