In FY2024–2025, NTPC intends to go public with its green energy division

QUITOL: According to a top corporate official on Tuesday, NTPC Ltd, the biggest power generator in India, plans to go public with its green energy division in the fiscal year that ends in March 2025.

The state utility also intends to add 3 GW of coal-fired power capacity and 4 to 5 GW of renewable electricity over the same time, according to the executive, who asked not to be named since the information has not yet been made public.

The official said on the fringes of the India Energy Week conference in Goa that NTPC’s capital expenditures in FY2024–2025 are anticipated to exceed Rs 300 billion ($3.61 billion), of which Rs 220 billion would be generated via loans and green bonds.
