Items Not Allowed In Cabin Luggage On Flights, From Powerbanks to Scissors

If you take flights regularly, you should be familiar with the list of products that are prohibited. Due to safety concerns, some forbidden items are not allowed at airports. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has put in place a number of precautions to lessen the risk of such situations given the history of airplane hijackings including the usage of such forbidden goods.

To guarantee a safe and hassle-free trip, it is essential to be aware of the rules and norms of airports regarding baggage goods. Here are some examples of what you can’t bring with you in your carry-on bags since they are prohibited during airport security checks:

Individual Items

Travelers often pack personal goods, whether they are for their own use or as presents for their family. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has put restrictions on some of these personal items, including lighters, metal scissors with sharp blades, and fake guns that look just like the real thing. The latter describes plastic dollhouse weapons that resemble actual guns or rifles. Such things are not allowed to be checked while boarding an aircraft.

Sharp Things

Sharp items are prohibited from being transported in travellers’ checked baggage, according to AAI. Box cutters, ice axes, meat cleavers, swords, scissors with pointed points, and knives are some of the pointed and sharp objects that AAI forbids. No knives of any length, save butter knives, round-bladed knives, and cutlery kinds, are allowed on airport property.

Sports Equipment

No matter how much you love baseball, you are not allowed to carry a baseball bat on an airplane. You may, however, pack it in your carry-on baggage if you so want. Bows and arrows, cricket bats, baseball bats, spear weapons, and golf clubs are just a few of the sports items that are not allowed on airplanes because of the risk they represent to passengers.

Fire Risk Materials

Fuels, gasoline, gas torches, lighter fluid, aerosols, gel paste, and other chemicals that are equally combustible are prohibited from being brought on board aircraft because they are regarded harmful by the AAI. Mobile power banks are also not permitted because of their structural and chemical similarities to explosives.
