MWC 2024: Honor announces it is creating a smart ring after Samsung’s major reveal

Honor said that it was developing a smart ring a day after Samsung debuted its Galaxy Ring at the current Mobile World Congress (MWC), citing the wearable as a component of the company’s larger emphasis on health.
George Zhao, the CEO of the firm, was reported by CNBC as stating, “Internally, we have this kind of solution, now we are working on that part, so you can have the Honor ring in the future.”

He went on to say that a major factor in helping to provide consumers with more health information would be artificial intelligence (AI).
Because they looked at your behaviors and health data to provide you with expert recommendations, this hardware capability will combine with AI-enabled applications to assist you in customizing the professional training course. These types of applications will change, in my opinion, thanks to AI,” Zhao added.
After the US slapped sanctions on the Chinese electronics behemoth, Huawei in 2020, the Chinese business split apart. Since then, the business has pushed to introduce its own devices and increase its market share abroad.
Samsung Galaxy Ring: Earlier this year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Ring line of wearables, which are multi-sensor devices that can measure health indicators without a screen, such as the wearer’s heart rate. The ring is being shown at MWC, even though the firm made the news during the Galaxy Unpacked event.

The Apple Ring
According to a recent story, Apple developers were reportedly working on three more wearable smart gadgets, one of which was a ring. However, the story pointed out that the iPhone manufacturer isn’t really constructing an Apple ring—it’s just a concept.
Furthermore, it said that the “hypothetical” ring will prioritize health and fitness, appealing to those who purchase the Apple Watch just for health tracking—tracking their heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, steps done, and calories burned—and who find the notification noises from calls and applications annoying.
