The introduction of the Mahindra Thar 5-door is rapidly approaching, and although enthusiasts of the SUV are anticipating its arrival, there are rumors circulating that the larger Thar model could go by a new name altogether. Mahindra has submitted trademark applications for seven possible titles for the future Mahindra Thar 5-door. Some of the names that the new Mahindra Thar SUV might go by are “Armada,” “Centurion,” “Cult,” “Gladius,” “Rex,” “Roxx,” “Savannah,” and others. For those who don’t know, Mahindra sold the Armada, a five-door SUV, from 1993 to 2001. The Bolero eventually replaced the Armada.

The outside of the new Mahindra Thar resembles that of the model that is already available for purchase. The updated model has a larger wheelbase, which increases cargo capacity and provides more room for second row passengers. The boxy design and lofty pillars of the Thar 5-door SUV will not change. It’s also thought that the SUV would receive new alloy wheels.

According to spy photos, the Mahindra Thar of 2024 would include a sunroof as an option and roof-mounted speakers, similar to those on the Scorpio-N and XUV700.

In addition, the new Thar has a bigger touchscreen infotainment system than the existing model, which has a head unit that is 7 inches in size. In addition, the SUV seems to feature new front seats and a revised steering wheel.

The introduction of the Mahindra Thar 5-door is scheduled for 2024, as confirmed by Mahindra. Because of its size, room, and practicality, the Mahindra Thar 5-door is anticipated to be a considerably more successful vehicle in the Indian market than the Thar 3-door. These days, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is the first vehicle that comes to mind when discussing a five-door off-road vehicle in the nation. Every detail of the new Thar will surpass that of the Jimny in size. The Mahindra Thar 5-door’s engine lineup will consist of the same 2.0-liter turbocharged and 2.2-liter diesel engines.
