Chandigarh: Excellent news for government workers in Punjab! Recently, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ordered an immediate 4% increase in their dearness allowance (DA). According to the President of the Punjab State Ministerial Services Union (PSMSU), this corresponds to a 38% rise in DA overall. Following a discussion with the PSMSU representatives, a decision in this respect was made. Mann spoke about a number of the workers’ requests throughout the meeting.

“Today, I had a detailed discussion with the representatives of the Punjab State Ministerial Service Union on their difficulties. letting everyone know that we will be giving our staff a present for the new year. The 4% hike in DA will take effect on December 1, 2023, according to a post made by Mann on X.

The president of PSMSU said that the CM had declared a 4% raise in salary for state government workers after the meeting. He said that the CM has promised to provide the last 8% of the DA.

The workers had been calling for the reinstatement of the previous pension plan, the release of unpaid 12 percent disability benefits, and the regularization of contract workers. The PSMSU completed its more than month-long pen-down strike on Sunday. It had started on November 8. Ahead of their meeting with the CM, they called off their strike.
