The value of Bitcoin has increased by $846 (about Rs. 70,426) in the last day. As of this writing, 49.9% of the market is still controlled by Bitcoin. Even with Thursday’s little increase in price for Bitcoin, Ether remains the real star of the show.

Ethereum increased by over 9% over the previous day, reaching $2,400 (about Rs. 1.99 lakh).

The CEO of BuyUcoin, Shivam Thakral, told Gadgets360 that “Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin recently expressed his interest to revamp Ethereum Proof of Stake, which created positive sentiment around the largest altcoin.”

Ethereum reached a 19-month high as it flirted with the $2,500 (about Rs. 2.08 lakh) level.

The CoinSwitch Markets Desk informed Gadgets360, “ETH and its scaling solutions, almost all major layer-2s saw significant gains as well, with Arbitrum’s ARB (+26.7 percent) leading the charge; Optimism’s OP (+22.2 percent) also observed major gains.”

On the cryptocurrency chart, the top gainers were Dogecoin, Cardano, Chainlink, Tron, and Shiba Inu.

Uniswap, Cosmos, Wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash all had marginal gains as well.

With its spectacular rise demonstrating the heightened competitiveness in the smart contract platform market, Solana is gradually establishing itself as a formidable challenger of Ethereum. At the same time, experts and investors are still fascinated by the trajectory of Bitcoin, which is expected to undergo significant changes in 2024. In light of this, hopeful conversations continue about Bitcoin potentially reaching the desired $100,000 (about Rs. 83.2 lakh) milestone, according to Rajagopal Menon, Vice President of WazirX, who spoke with Gadgets360.

As of this writing, the value of the cryptocurrency market was estimated by CoinMarketCap to be $1.69 trillion, or about Rs. 1,40,65,810 crore, having increased by 2.47 percent over the previous day.

On Thursday, losses were reported by Tether, Solana, USD Coin, Avalanche, Polkadot, and Polygon.
