X is launching a long-form video streaming service for Smart TVs

X, the old Twitter and now controlled by Elon Musk, is branching out into a new area after introducing voice and video conversations. Elon Musk said on Saturday that the X platform is launching a streaming service, posing a fresh threat to Google-owned YouTube. The company’s future service would let customers see lengthy films on their smart TVs.

The business is releasing a TV app for smart TVs from Samsung and Amazon. In response to a post made by an X user that said, “You can soon watch your favorite X long-form videos directly on your SmartTVs,” Musk verified this. Coming shortly, according to Musk.

The entrepreneur said on X, “We just want people to be able to watch long videos on their big-screen TV in comfort.” “You can already use Apple AirPlay to play videos from your phone to your TV,” the CEOs of SpaceX and Tesla said.

This decision by X is a “strategic step towards diversifying its platform and competing in the ever-evolving digital content landscape,” according to one of his followers.

It will be interesting to see how this video streaming endeavor affects the wider internet media consumption environment. Ahead are exciting days,” the user said.

Musk hopes to turn the X platform into a “universal application.” The social media platform is experimenting with long-form writing, podcasts, and video games in addition to smart TVs.

Concurrently, X launched ‘Articles’ on Friday, a new method of sharing lengthy written material on the site, challenging traditional media. Articles with stylized text, embedded photos, and videos may now be posted on the site by premium users who pay for X services.

Additionally, they have the ability to style text using bulleted lists, bold, italics, strikethrough, indentation, numbers, and headers and subheadings.

Like ordinary X posts, users may read their published articles on their profiles, and their followers can view them on their timelines via the new Articles page. The character restriction in Articles is more than the 25,000 character limit that is currently offered in the “longer posts” function for premium members.
