69th Filmfare Awards: Internet users criticize the council of experts when John Abraham is not nominated for Pathaan

The 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards has revealed its nominees. The intriguing thing is that superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who starred in two very successful 2023 films, Jawan and Dunki, is nominated for Best Actor. In other categories, 12th Fail has also garnered nominations concurrently. On the other hand, Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, garnered the most number of nominations—19.

 

Twitter users seemed displeased, meanwhile, that John Abraham’s name was absent from the list of nominees. In Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, the actor portrayed the antagonist, and he was the most deserving opponent. The Best Actor in a Negative Role (Male\Female) category at the Filmfare Awards has been discontinued; nevertheless, the actor’s name may still appear in the nominees for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role category. However, internet users became enraged after failing to see John Abraham’s name on the list. They accused the awards of being manipulated in addition to disparaging the selection committee.

After Aamir Khan’s Dangal and SRK’s Jawan, Pathaan is presently the third-highest grossing Indian film at the global box office. John was a major character in the movie. John Abraham was the ideal villain in the movie starring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan. And his followers have undoubtedly been agitated when he failed to get a nomination for the 69th Filmfare Awards.

For those who are unaware, the Filmfare Awards are usually held in Mumbai, but this year they are being held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. On January 28, the star-studded event will take place.
