Aditya Dhar responds to the claim that Article 370 is a “agenda-driven” movie

Aditya Dhar is prepared for his next project, Article 370, after the enormous success of his directing debut, Uri: The Surgical Strike. The director recently discussed how his next movie, Article 370, has been called a “agenda-driven” movie. He said that since Priyamani and his wife Yami Gautam are the film’s leads, Article 370 is a movie that supports women’s emancipation.

Aditya said, “Article 370 chronologically tells the truth, what had happened and how it happened,” in an interview with Indian Express. Jingoism does not exist. Nothing in the movie will make you feel repulsed. The tale is all about how these individuals managed to carry off such a large-scale operation. It’s an amazing tale. Those who often claim that India doesn’t produce many significant female-oriented movies should go see our film instead. This movie really demonstrates that a compelling tale matters more than the gender of the main character. “Article 370 is the ideal movie for supporters of women’s rights to support.”

He continued, “The community who feels that it is an agenda-driven film without watching it, I really don’t care about them because I think they are people who have already made their judgement and the agenda is actually in their head.” He was speaking to the group of people who are calling Article 370 a “agenda-driven” film. I can’t change their decision since they made it without even seeing the movie. So, it is a waste of time to even consider or debate them.

He also discussed the criticism he got for his directorial debut. “The audience is highly knowledgeable.” They know the difference between a well-intentioned movie and one that is driven by agendas. They are also aware of the distinction between a movie and a project. I recall that at the time, a lot of people blasted Uri, but the way the event proceeded essentially silenced them. He went on, “The truth is that nothing can be above the audience.”
