After revealing his payment for Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om, Javed Sheikh received a brutal backlash from Pakistani fans

In a recent interview, Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh, who portrayed Shah Rukh Khan’s fictional father in the 2007 smash Om Shanti Om, discussed his salary. Some of his compatriots didn’t take kindly to his response. The seasoned performer said in an interview that he only received Re 1 for his time spent working with Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan.

Javed was questioned about his experience working on the Farah Khan movie in an interview with Gloss Etc. There was disagreement concerning his compensation when he was chosen for the movie. He claimed, “Their manager told me they needed to sign the contract when he came to me. I said, “Yes.” What will you charge me? I vowed not to accept any payment. The actor said, “The problem is that first and foremost it’s an honor for me to portray Shah Rukh’s father in his greatest film to date.

There are numerous actors in India. Any person you designate will be prepared to fill this position. But it’s an honor for me that Shah Rukh and Farah Khan chose me. I won’t accept any payment because of Farah and Shah Rukh. The manager allegedly refused to listen after that and said it was against the rules. Javed ultimately proposed, “You go and tell Shah Rukh I will take just one rupee,” after much deliberation. I’m not laughing. Then, the film’s production team settled on Javed’s compensation. “It was shocking in and of itself when they sent me the first check.”

Internet users have now voiced their displeasure with his perspective. One of them allegedly remarked, “This is what you call not having any self-respect,” according to a news website called Reviewit.pk. ‘That’s again showing them how insignificant we are and you are our superior,’ read another remark. Another one said, “Very unprofessional.”

Om Shanti Om, directed by Farah Khan, became one of the most successful blockbusters in Indian film history back in 2007. Deepika Padukone made her acting debut in the film as well. Arjun Rampal played a villain in the Farah Khan-directed film.
