Ankur Bhatia will break down barriers in the Sushmita Sen and Ankur Bhatia-starring film “Taali”
Ankur Bhatia and Sushmita Sen previously acted together as siblings in the two seasons of the highly acclaimed television series “Aarya,” and they are again back together for the biographical drama “Taali.”
Ankur will be featured in a risky choice of character as a homosexual activist in the Ravi Jadhav directed film. The position promotes inclusiveness and diversity.
Ankur spoke with IANS about his part in the drama, saying: “In the show, I play the character of Navin, who is a homosexual activist and the largest fan of Gauri Sawant, portrayed by Sushmita Sen.
Ankur plays Sangram Singh Rathore, the half-brother of Aarya Sareen (played by Sushmita), in the crime drama “Aarya.”
Ankur said of his reunion with Sushmita: “It brought me immense happiness and excitement to reunite with Sushmita after ‘Aarya’, and especially on this kind of a subject that carries such an important message.”
In order for people to be aware of this, it was about time that something like this came out. Therefore, I am really happy and honored to be a part of this performance,” Ankur said.
Sushmita will play one of the most audacious characters in “Taali” as the transgender activist “Shreegauri Sawant.”
The series’ 47-second trailer offers a glimpse into the valiant journey filled with challenges, resiliency, and success.
‘Taali’ will shed light on transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant’s tenacious pursuit of the recognition of the third gender in India. It was written by Kshitij Patwardhan, produced by Arjun Singgh Baran, Kartk D Nishandar (GSEAMS Production), and Afeefa Nadiadwala.
Ankur, Aishwarya Narkar, Hemangi Kavi, Suvrat Joshi, Krutika Deo, Nitish Rathore, Meenakshi Chugh, and Shaan Kakkar also play significant parts with Sushmita.
On JioCinema, the series will make its debut on August 15.
After enjoying success with Shahid Kapoor in Ali Abbas Zafar’s “Bloody Daddy,” Ankur is now poised to wow fans in “Operation Mayfair,” which also stars Jimmy Shergill.
