Concerning Animals

In Animal, Anil Kapoor’s portrayal of Ranbir Singh’s father Balbir Singh, and Ranbir’s Ranvijay Singh are torn apart by a violent background. Despite Animal’s popularity in theaters, some reviewers and audiences have criticized it, labeling it as extremely violent and sexist. Producing the film are Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar’s T-Series, Cine1 Studios (Murad Khetani), and Bhadrakali Pictures (Pranay Reddy Vanga).

Rashmika discussing Animal

Recently, Rashmika posted some behind-the-scenes photos from her movie on Instagram. About her persona, “Gitanjali..,” she wrote. She is the only thing keeping her family together at home, if I were to sum her up in one word. She is raw, powerful, unadulterated, true, and pure. Being an actress, I would sometimes disagree with some of Gitanjali’s decisions. And I still remember my director telling me that this was the narrative of Ramanvijay and Gitanjali; their families, lives, love, and passion—this was who they were.”

Rashmika went on, “Gitanjali would provide peace, trust, and quiet in a world full of all violence, anguish, and unimaginable sorrow. She would ask the gods to protect her family, including her husband. She was the rock that survived every adversity. She was willing to go to any lengths to protect her family.
