Director Vetri Duraisamy was discovered dead nine days after the incident

Monday saw the discovery of Tamil director Vetri Duraisamy’s corpse in the Sutlej River in Himachal Pradesh. Duraisamy went missing after an automobile accident on February 4. In the Lahaul-Spiti region, near Kashang Nala, Vetri, the son of former Chennai Mayor Saidai Duraisamy, was traveling with a friend when their automobile plunged into a river along National Highway 5.

“We had been conducting a rescue operation for the past nine days and on Monday, his body was recovered about 2.5 kilometers from the accident site,” the Himachal Pradesh police control room told us when we got in touch with them. Around 3:20 p.m., the local rescue squad in the Himachal Pradesh district of Mandi found the corpse floating in the river near Sundar Nagar. The found corpse would be taken to Chennai after the post-mortem.
