“I hope to see more women in the workplace,” said Sonakshi Sinha

Speaking about their journey and forthcoming OTT program at FICCI Frames 2024 in Mumbai, Sonakshi Sinha, who reunites with renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on “Heeramandi” after Rowdy Rathore, shared her thoughts.

Sonakshi said, “A lot of women need that one push where someone tells them to go for it; I’m behind you. They have been conditioned and trained to doubt themselves for a very, very long time.” Furthermore, there is no need for concern. Thus, the first step is crucial. I would thus just advise all other women to pursue their goals in life. Simply go for it.”
Sonakshi continued to encourage, saying, “I hope we get to see more women in workplaces. I have worked on two productions directed by Indian filmmakers: “Dahaad” and “Khandani Shafakhana.” I consider them to be some of the highlights of my professional and personal life, and working on a set managed by women was enjoyable.”
The ‘Tevar’ actress also discussed her working relationship with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. “Even before Heeramandi, Sanjay sir and I were trying to collaborate on stuff,” she said. Long, long ago, he produced one of my films, Rowdy Rathore. And he’s liked me a lot. He has complimented me and been so encouraging. Even when our attempts to work out didn’t, we stayed in contact.”
“I would sit with him and talk over coffee every time I visited his office. ‘Heeramandi’ called me. I took a seat in the room where I was relaxing. We were chatting when he arrived, and I said, “Sir, each time I visit your office, we have coffee,, and then we head out.” I’ll drink tea instead of coffee with you. After having tea, we had a similar talk. I returned home, and now I’m in Heeramandi.” Sonakshi continued.
In important parts, “Heeramandi” also features the gifted Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Richa Chadha, and Sanjeeda Shaikh.
