In a heartfelt letter to his mother Hiroo Johar, Karan Johar recounts all she has taught him through the years

On the occasion of his mother Hiroo Johar's 80th birthday, filmmaker Karan Johar sent a heartfelt letter to her and shared pictures of the two of them online.
The 50-year-old filmmaker praised his mother for believing in him on Instagram and named her as an influence. Today, my strong and courageous mother is 80. "She is as much my conscience as she is my fashion police. She taught me how to love. She taught me to stand up for what I believe in. She taught me to never apologise or defend myself if I was right. She taught me never to pretend to be something I wasn't.
"Mom, I love you to the stars and back. Without you, I never would have been able to raise Roohi and Yash. You are #mymommyhero, he said.
Celebrities flocked to the comments section to wish Karan's mother as soon as he shared the statement on social media. Among others who wished Hiroo well were Sonali Bendre, Shilpa Shetty, Malaika Arora, Ananya Panday, Shweta Bachchan, and Ronit Bose.
For his next film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan, and Churni Ganguly, Karan just wrapped up filming. On July 28, the movie is expected to be released in theatres.
