Poonam Pandey departed on Thursday, February 1. The news of her passing initially surfaced in a post shared on her official Instagram account. The post conveyed, “This morning is a challenging one for us. We are deeply sorry to inform you that we have bid farewell to our beloved Poonam, who succumbed to cervical cancer. Every living being that ever crossed paths with her was greeted with genuine love and kindness. In this period of mourning, we request privacy as we reminisce about the moments we shared.”

The news of her demise has reverberated across the entertainment industry. Kangana Ranaut responded to the news on her Instagram stories, expressing, “This is profoundly disheartening; losing a young woman to cancer is a calamity. Om Shanti.” Karan Kundrra, the Lock Upp Jailer, also spoke to Times Now, exclaiming, “Oh my god! I am completely unaware of this. How did it transpire? It is exceedingly sad and heartbreaking news.”

Actress Sambhavna Seth, in conversation with News18, disclosed her ignorance of Poonam’s cancer diagnosis. “Oh my god! I knew her. We participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi together. I met her last year.
