Jasmeet K Reen, director of Alia Bhatt’s “Darlings,” will direct the Madhubala biography

It has now been revealed that a biopic depicting the life of the legendary performer Madhubala is presently in production, much to everyone’s surprise. This ambitious movie will be directed by renowned director Jasmeet K. Reen, who is best known for helming the critically acclaimed film “Darlings,” starring Alia Bhatt. Brewing Thoughts Pvt. Ltd. and Sony Pictures International Productions, the producers, verified the news.

Ltd., under the umbrella of Madhubala Ventures, Arvind Kumar Malviya and Madhur Brij Bhushan, Madhubala’s sister, are co-producing the biopic.

The statement came as rumours surfaced that fashion designer Manish Malhotra was also working on a Madhubala-focused movie with Kriti Sanon playing the protagonist.
In October 2022, Madhur Brij Bhushan, Madhubala’s sister, underlined that just one Madhubala biography was sponsored by her and her family and categorically rejected the existence of any other film projects.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Bhushan said that the intention is to avoid offending anybody, but they will highlight a few hidden aspects of Madhu Apa’s life that aren’t seen by the general public. The movie will also dispel a number of myths and misrepresentations about her life. He would provide creative freedom to the makers of Apa’s biography,, so long as they portray her life honestly and accurately.
Throughout her twenty-year career, Madhubala acted in almost sixty films and was regarded as one of the highest-paid actresses of her day. Madhubala was praised for her attractiveness and her noteworthy roles in films, including “Mr. and Mrs. 55,” “Half Ticket,” “Mughal-e-Azam,” “Mahal,” and “Badal.”
