Joe Alwyn travels to France for the Cannes Film Festival’s international premiere of “Kinds of Kindness.”

May 17, Cannes, France: A month after his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift released her most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department, actor Joe Alwyn showed up for the world premiere of his film “Kinds of Kindness” at the Cannes Film Festival, according to People.

When Swift, 34, posted five exclusive playlists with Apple Music that examined the five phases of heartbreak—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance—she first hinted that the project was a breakup album. Swift and the actor had a six-year affair.

Tracks like “So Long, London,” “But Daddy, I Love Him,” and “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” on the April 19th-released album also allude subtly to the English actor and their past romance.

Although Swift and Alwyn refrained from making public comments on their breakup, a prior insider informed People that the main reason for it was “differences in their personalities.”

The insider said that they “ultimately” were not the “right fit” for one another, saying, “They’ve had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart but eventually come back together.”

Along with her record-breaking Eras Tour and new album, Swift has been quite busy. She has also been dating Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Cannes Film Festival will host the international premiere of Alwyn’s Kinds of Kindness. Along with Alwyn, Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, and others feature in the Yorgos Lanthimos-directed film.

According to a synopsis, the movie follows “a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife, who was missing at sea, has returned and seems to be a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.” According to People, Kinds of Kindness opens in cinemas on June 21.
