Kangana Ranaut Claims That the Emergency in Her Directorial Debut Has ‘Nothing to Do With Elections’

Emergency, Kangana Ranaut’s forthcoming film, is now preparing for release. She makes her directing debut with the political drama. The actress recently responded to claims that the movie would adversely represent the Congress party and will be released around the time of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in an interview.

The actress said to Times Now Navbharat when asked about allegations surrounding “Emergency,” “If you want to know a guy, then go for his deeds and not his words. You see the movie. I’m not sure whether the movie will be released in time for the elections, but it will be released. Elections and any political party are unrelated to it. Additionally, I would like to mention that it is a tribute to our three-time elected prime leader. It is the account of her life, both the good and the terrible. A woman is representative in and of herself, as I already said. However, it is incorrect to infer that I have already chosen a certain (political party) to support.

The “Queen” actress said that when researching “Emergency,” she learned that Indira Gandhi had previously been “bullied.” ‘Maine khud Emergency me Mrs. Gandhi ki biopic me kaam kia hai,’ she said. When I looked into Indira Gandhi, I discovered that Richard Nixon had mistreated her in the past. He also treated her unfairly in the media, according to Nixon. But right now, PM Modi is figuratively carrying the torch for mankind with violence and solely with love. Indians feel quite proud.

Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, and Milind Soman all play significant parts in the movie. The movie is slated for a November 24, 2023, theatrical debut.
