Kenneth Mitchell, the actor from Captain Marvel, dies away

Kenneth Mitchell, a 49-year-old Canadian actor best known for his parts in Star Trek: Discovery and Captain Marvel, passed away from ALS. The actor’s family announced on Instagram that Mitchell passed away on February 24.

The family posted on Facebook, stating, “With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, son, and dear friend.”

Mitchell passed away more than five years after disclosing he had Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The deadly condition known as ALS causes the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to gradually deteriorate. It has no recognized treatment. The actor remarked, “It’s been a long five years,” in an Instagram post from August of last year. So much gained, so much lost. Extremely difficult circumstances laced with an abundance of benefits.

“Friends, family, caretakers, and medical professionals who repeatedly come to my family’s rescue are the people at the center of it all. extending an abundance of love, support, caring, and inspiration. That is just very beautiful. Even though this illness is horrifying, there are a lot of things for which to be thankful. Mitchell leaves behind two children and his wife, Susan May Pratt.
