Meet the actor who quit cricket to go in Bollywood; his first film was a box office failure, but he has experience working with Salman, SRK, and Amitabh

Many actors in Bollywood and television have previously played cricket, but they said farewell to sports to pursue careers in cinema and television. While many actors were able to establish themselves in the film business, others struggled for years before landing the job that every actor aspires to.

We are going to tell you about Angad Bedi, the son of the late Bishan Singh Bedi, the former captain of India’s cricket team. Angad Bedi chose to forge his own path and pursue Bollywood rather than continuing in his father’s footsteps. Nevertheless, he hasn’t been able to make a name for himself as a leading man so far.

Many people are unaware that Angad Bedi represented Delhi in cricket up till the Under-19 level. Following that, he started a modeling career before pursuing acting.

In 2004, Angad Bedi made his screen debut in “Kaya Taran,” which was an adaptation of NS Madhavan’s Malayalam short tale Vanmarangal Veezhumpol, which means “When the Big Trees Fall.” The 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the 2002 Gujarat riots served as the setting for the film, which was a box office failure.

Although ‘Kaya Taran’ failed to make an impact at the box office, Angad Bedi was a prominent figure and received critical acclaim for his performance.

Following “Kaya Taran” and a short TV appearance, Angad Bedi made a comeback to Bollywood in 2011 with Remo D’Souza’s film “F.A.L.T.U.”

Angad is well recognized for his roles in films like “Dear Zindagi,” “Ungli,” “PINK,” and “Tiger Zinda Hai.” Over the years, Angad Bedi has become more well-known and famous, but he has never been able to get a leading role in a film.

In May 2018, Angad Bedi tied the knot with Neha Dhupia in a secret ceremony held at a Gurudwara. The couple’s boy was born in October 2021, and their daughter was born in November 2018.
