Mumbai Court Finds Stepfather Guilty of Execution in Laila Khan Murder Case for Killing Actress and Five Others

Pervez Tak, the stepfather of Scarlet Laila Khan, was recently found guilty by the Sessions Court of killing Khan and five other family members in February 2011. Tak faces the death penalty. Shelina’s third husband, Tak, who lives in Kashmir, was arrested on July 8, 2012, after suspicions were raised by the family’s abduction and his subsequent flight to Kashmir.

The victims, who were last seen at their farmhouse in Igatpuri, were Laila, her sister Azmina, her twin siblings Zara and Imran, her cousin Reshma, and Shelina. Tak was apprehended as a result of the inquiry, which was started after Shelina’s ex-husband filed a missing persons report. Khan’s Igatpuri home was also damaged by fire after the catastrophe.

Thus, Nadir Patel, Khan’s father and Celina’s first husband, reported to the Oshiwara police station that Tak and Laila’s stepfather, Asif Shaikh, were to blame for the disappearance of his daughter and five other relatives. Asif had been held by the police, but he was released, and Tak was charged with the murder as the actress’s last known position, as determined by her cellphone data, was in Igatpuri, where he was last seen with the family. Following the purported murderous episode, Tak fled to his home in Kashmir.

During their visit to the Igatpuri bunglow, Tak is said to have gotten into a fight with Celina and beat her with a blunt item. Celina passed away as a result. Later, with the assistance of people he didn’t know, Tak attacked other members of his family. Afterwards, he burned the house down and dumped the corpse in a hole close by.
