No One in Twinkle Khanna’s master’s class seemed to recognize her; she had to go up and introduce herself

Recently, Twinkle Khanna, an actor turned novelist, completed her master’s degree in fiction writing at Goldsmiths, University of London. In an interview with Hello Magazine, she said that nobody knew who she was in class. It was said that Twinkle needed to “make a bio, get up, and introduce myself.”

Twinkle said in the interview, “I don’t think anyone in my class did.” The fact that there were no other Indians there, save from a single girl from Chicago who was of Kashmiri descent, made it favorable. I had to make a bio, go up, and introduce myself, just like everyone else. I needed to think of a literary joke with my name. Thankfully, The Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri has a character called Twinkle. That turned into the ideal punchline.

Twinkle expressed her concern about who she would have lunch with and stroll with in the hallways. “We made plans to have lunch together after the lecturer gave the three of us a presentation. We hit it off right away, and I never ate lunch by myself again. I met a ton of wonderful new pals,” she said.

Her spouse Akshay Kumar proved to be her strongest supporter throughout her recent graduation. He wrote a kind remark and posted a lovely picture of them together. “Two years ago, when you told me you wanted to take up studies all over again, I wondered if you meant it,” wrote Akshay, praising Twinkle. But I knew I had married a superwoman the day I saw you put in so much effort and skillfully balance a full-fledged student life with my family, profession, house, and kids.”

Finally, he said, “I also wish I had studied a little more so I could have enough words to tell you how proud you make me, Tina, on this day of your graduation. With all of my affection, congratulations.
