Playing Ron Wesley in the "Harry Potter" franchise for a decade, according to Rupert Grint, was "suffocating"

Recently, Rupert Grint spoke on his almost ten-year tenure as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies and his decision to go on to new endeavours.
Grint said that portraying the adored role from the age of 11 to 22 "was rather smothering" in a recent interview with Bustle magazine.
He said that he started to struggle to separate himself from the persona, stating, "We became one in the movies. By the time it was through, I was acting as myself. The boundaries were hazy." He continued by saying that he even replies when he is addressed as Ron.
Potter was really demanding; we would shoot for a whole year and then advertise for the rest of it. While Grint is grateful for all of the experiences he has had, he said that he, "wanted to take a pause to think about things. … For a while, I felt as if I was outside of my body, but I believe we arrived at the proper conclusion. If we had gone on, things may have become worse."
Daniel Radcliffe and his Harry Potter movie co-stars came together in 2022 to participate in the HBO Max special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts. Even though he believed it was too soon for a reunion, he acknowledged that it was wonderful to see his fellow cast members and that it was an opportunity for him to think back on the experience they had together, calling it "wild" and "nice to look back."
He stated: "was a very special event that only the core group of us fully understands, so it's good to see them. It was a nice chance to think back on everything and express how absurd it was all. It's always enjoyable to reflect."
Recently, Grint has changed his focus to creepier and more suspenseful ventures like M. Night Shyamalan's Knock At The Cabin, the series Servant, and Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. There's something therapeutic about these jobs, he told Bustle.
He said, "I'm attracted to a latent weakness. "Somewhat damaged and shattered individuals. It seems to be what I'm doing right now."
Even though he considered filming a Christmas movie as his next endeavour, he said that he was happy with where he was at the time.
He said, "I'm delighted with where I've ended up. I'm doing something light next, like a Christmas movie.
