Politics and producer RM Veerappan dies

Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, MG Ramachandran, and other well-known Tamil film producers have all starred in films made by RM Veerappan, the popular politician, earlier today.

The 97-year-old film director and prominent Dravidian passed away at a Chennai private hospital.
Veerappan, a friend and mentor of the late MG Ramachandran, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, was taken to the hospital on Sunday.

On Tuesday, he passed away. Tomorrow, April 10, 2024, at 4 p.m., the burial ceremonies for the dead leader will be held at the Nungambakkam cremation site, after the last respects paid by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to the leader.
Within the Tamil film industry, the seasoned lawmaker is well-known for having produced movies with MG Ramachandran, including Rickshwakaran, Idhayakani, and Kaavalkaaran. In addition, he has produced movies with Rajinikanth, including Baasha, Thanga Magan, Moondru Mugam, and Panakkaran. He has collaborated with Kamal Haasan on the films Kaaki Sattai and Kadhal Parisu.
