Producer Salaar claims the movie is not a reimagining of Ugramm, and the release date is determined by astrology

Important information on Prashanth Neel’s next film Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire, starring Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, was revealed by Hombale Films’ Vijay Kiragandur. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the producer shared some intriguing details about the movie.

Ugramm is not Salaar.
In 2014, Prashanth directed the movie Ugramm, in which Tilak Shekar and Srimurali played the main parts. In the movie, a guy attempts to shield a girl from assailants who want to murder her. Salazar has two companions, much like Ugramm, hence a lot of people thought it was a remake. Vijay allayed their concerns, saying, “Prashanth made both KGF and Ugramm. He understands how to create something fresh every time. Thus, the rumors that Salaar is a remake are untrue.

Astrology predicted that Salaar would have premiered for Pongal in January of the following year, but Vijay thinks Telugu and Tamil movies would overtake them. In addition, he discussed how December 22 was chosen despite the fact that Dunki and Aquaman were released on December 21. He told the site, “We have been planning release dates according to astrology for a decade now and will continue to do so. We announced a date based on our beliefs.”

Concerning Salaar
The film, which is set in the made-up city of Khansaar, follows the tale of Varadharaj Mannar, portrayed by Prithviraj, who is about to usurp his father’s position as the city’s ruler. But in order to regain control of the city when foes plot to destroy him and his kingdom, he enlists the aid of Deva/Salaar, portrayed by Prabhas, a boyhood friend. Aadhya, Salaar’s romantic interest, is portrayed by Shruti, while Jagapathi Babu portrays Raja Mannar. After its recent release, the movie’s trailer garnered positive feedback.
