Rajkumar Hirani will be associated with the country's first story library 'The Source', will play the responsibility of creative mentor for budding writers

Rajkumar Hirani, one of the finest directors of Indian cinema, has now joined the country's first story library 'The Source'. The Source Story will act as a bank for concepts and scripts where stories and ideas from across the length and breadth of the country will be explored. The Source will also act as a bridge between writers and filmmakers. The Source is started by Shikha Kapoor, Amit Chandra and Prabhat Choudhary. Only original stories and ideas will be included in the source.

The first story has been sourced by Rajkumar Hirani stepping down as its Chief Creative Mentor. Scouts from Kashmir, North East, Hindi Heartland, Punjab, Bengal, Maharashtra and Southern States send stories and ideas to SOURCE's development team in Mumbai on a daily basis. These range from real stories to folk tales, rare human achievement stories and rich mythology. The Source team lists these stories here. Industry people must subscribe to The Source to take advantage of its services. Members can choose the story of their choice and contact its author.

Chief Creative Mentor Rajkumar Hirani said about this launch – “It is a very powerful idea and our industry needs it. Content pipeline is expanding rapidly and we as an industry need more and more ideas. Source has a system for finding creative ideas. I will continue to guide the creative team without being involved in the day-to-day functioning of the company.

Shailesh Kapoor, Founder and CEO, Ormax Media associated with The Source, says, “At Ormax Media, we have been testing scripts for films and series extensively over the past decade, but the association with The Source has been particularly special. Because it gives us an opportunity to contribute to the development process from the very beginning to the deeper access or idea to the story and then to the script. Viewers' understanding of content cannot be underestimated and I am delighted that The Source's leadership team is committed to harnessing audience inputs to develop great content for the Indian theatrical and streaming market."

Not Rishi Kapoor but this is Ranbir Kapoor's idol hero, used to put his posters in the bedroom

Not Rishi Kapoor but this is Ranbir Kapoor's idol hero, used to put his posters in the bedroom

Ranbir Kapoor has told many times that he is a big fan of Sanjay Dutt, which is why when Rajkumar Hirani offered Ranbir Kapoor to work in Sanjay Dutt's biopic, Ranbir readily agreed. Ranbir Kapoor has played the character of Sanjay Dutt on-screen and now for the first time, he will be seen on screen with Sanjay Dutt in the film 'Shamshera'.

Ranbir Kapoor recently while talking about Sanjay Dutt during the trailer launch of Shamshera said that 'Sanjay Dutt was a family friend, so he has a different association and if I talk about myself, then he is the hero of my life. I grew up watching his movies. There were huge posters of Sanjay Dutt in my room during school days. I have always considered him my idol. When I got a chance to live his life on screen, it was a big deal for me and now working with him is no less than a dream for me.

Ranbir further says 'It is not that Sanjay Dutt only loves me, but he also scolds me a lot. Sanjay Dutt treats me like his son and a younger brother. If I do something good, I will praise it and if I do something wrong, I scold them. Like now, even if I do not do good films, I get scolded a lot by them. Sharing an old anecdote, Ranbir says, "During the films Rockstar and Barfi, I used to work out in his gym along with him, then once Sanjay Dutt scolded me and asked that you work out in the gym for two years. But where is your body? What do you do'.

Ranbir laughed and continued his point saying, 'Not only this, then one day he asked me what film you are doing after 'Barfi', what will Peda, Laddu do in such films, because they used to think I should entertain people with such films on a large scale so that people remember me and my character. I think now this film 'Shamshera' is exactly the same.

Let us tell you that in the film 'Shamshera', where Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in a double role for the first time, Sanjay Dutt will once again be seen in a negative role after the film 'Agneepath' and 'KGF2'. Along with Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor will also be seen in an important role in the film.
