Rakul Preet Singh, a recent newlywed, prepares halwa for the Chauka Chardhana ritual

Actress Rakul Preet Singh, who recently wed producer and actor Jackky Bhagnani, tweeted a photo of herself with her first rasoi while preparing a delectable sooji ka halwa for the family.

Using Instagram stories, Rakul Preet—who has 23.6 million followers—posted a photo of a dish filled with sooji ka halwa.

The caption on the photo is “Chauka Chardhana.”

A newlywed wife cooks for the first time as part of a tradition called “Chauka Chardhana,” which is held two days after the wedding and generally involves making a sweet dish.

The actress, who will soon star with Kamal Haasan in S Shankar’s eagerly awaited “Indian 2,” was married to Jackky Bhagnani on February 21 in Goa.

Two rituals were held during the two-in-one wedding: the Sindhi-style ceremony, which represented both Rakul and Jackky’s cultural origins and the Sikh Anand Karaj ceremony.

Her family and close friends, including Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, and Bhumi Pednekar, attended the little wedding.
