Ryan Gosling is “the best human in every way,” according to Simu Liu, who plays fellow “Barbie” character Ken

The on-screen rivalry between actors Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu in “Barbie,” which is focused on Ken, will continue. Off-screen, they have a lot of respect for one another.

According to ‘People’ magazine, Liu, 34, recently posted a photo of himself and Gosling, 42, from a ‘Barbie’ press event on his Instagram Story while praising the actor and making many jokes about Ken.

In a comment on a photo of the fellow Canadian actor, the “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” star wrote, “I’d beach off with this Kenaidan again in a heartbeat.” He is the finest person in every manner, particularly when he cracks jokes with us on the red carpet and on the set and spreads his Kenergy to all of us.

According to ‘People,’ Liu’s tweet seemed to be a reaction to a widely shared video from the ‘Barbie’ press day on June 28 in Toronto, in which the two stars are seen posing for pictures with their arms around one another. Gosling can be heard speaking to Liu in the video, which CTV’s eTalk posted on Twitter. The two men are adjusting their poses while he speaks to Liu.

“You don’t want – don’t you think that’s too tender? Liu is heard responding in the video, “Fair enough. The remainder of the short video has both males posing with their hands in their pockets.

Liu made it clear in his Instagram Story on Thursday that he wanted to dispel any rumors of a falling out with the La La Land actor. He urged his supporters to pay attention to the current Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes instead.

“Let’s now return to the important issues, like supporting our striking writers and actors who are fighting for fair pay!” Liu made a caption addition.

In Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” which had its theatrical debut last Friday and is now ruling the box office, Liu portrays one of the many different iterations of Ken.
