The state of Bihar has been the backdrop of several fictional cops and gangster drama films and web series over the past decade. Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, released on Netflix this Friday, is a story inspired by true events from the life of IPS officer Amit Lodha, known as Dabangg and Singham of Bihar. The story is based on the book Bihar Diaries written by Amit himself. The story is true, but it has not made much difference on the screen, nothing is different like that. Which the audience has not seen before on the screen. Although the case has not become memorable, it has not become burdensome either because of the acting of the artists and the realistic treatment of the series, this series can be watched once.
This gangster and cop story is very familiar
The story of this series is from Bihar of that era when Bihar was considered a den of criminals and gangsters. The story is of Chor Police Wali, in which you will get to see the touch of Gangs of Wasseypur, Bhaukal, and Mirzapur as well as Prakash Jha's films at many places. Chandan Mahato (Avinash Tiwari), a criminal or gangster who was out of reach of everyone, how a young IPS (Karan Ticker) from Rajasthan catches him in this series of seven episodes. It has a complete journey. The story is of seven episodes, but the real game begins in the fifth episode. Till then the portrayal of the characters of both criminal and police and their transformation from nobody to some buddy and then to special one goes on on-screen, which keeps this story engaging, but there is nothing in the story and its treatment, which makes the series special. If it is the story of Bihar, the politicians' nexus with both the criminal and the police and caste-based entanglements have also been linked well to the story and characters, but this is not new.
thief police game
In this game of thief police, the way the mobile tower is used is shown. It was like that in the film Sehar as well. Familiar formulas have been adopted in this game of thief police, due to which the thrill that should have come in the story, seems to be loosening because of this. Too many characters are added to the series and they do it forcibly that they don't even allow other characters to emerge. The characters needed a bit more work, especially Chandan Mahto's character from the beginning till the penultimate episode, an attempt was made to develop his image as a dreaded criminal, then suddenly sometime before the last episode, he was given a very Devoted father is made. The series also tries to establish that he was left with no option but to resort to crime by the upper caste people. This aspect of him had to be added to the character from the very beginning. In the end, it seems a bit imposing. His wife had left him, and that incident had changed him. His back story could also be shown. The story of the series is seven episodes, but each episode is of about an hour, so there was a need to reduce it a bit through editing. This story has been written by Uma Shankar Singh, writer of Maharani, who has given more than one dialogue in Maharani.
communication is good
This time also the dialogues are well made, which brings the society of Bihar to the fore, but like the Queen, the dialogues are not remembered. A lot of dialogue was expected in this drama of cop and gangster. Overall, in this story, Neeraj Pandey as the maker has told popular or beautiful stories about Bihar. Presented the cocktail of all of them. It remains like any other gangster drama series. Can't remember for a long time.
gathering of great artists
This series has not only popular but reliable acting names, which have handled the average screenplay of this series. Avinash Tiwari tries to do something new with each character and this time also the character of Chandan Mahato. In this, he has tried to leave a different impression. From his look to his body language, he has lived his character. It has proved to be a tremendous opportunity for Karan Taker, which he has played well. Jatin Sarna and Abhimanyu Singh have managed to leave their mark. Aishwarya Sushmita is remembered even in a limited role. Other actors including Ravi Kishan and Ashutosh Rana have also done justice to their characters.
