Papa Rao Biyala is making his directorial debut from Music School. Veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja will grace the musical drama with his music. Sharman Joshi is playing the lead role along with Shriya in the film. Apart from acting in the film, Shaan will also sing a song in which he himself will be seen. Sharing his happiness about the film, Shaan said, "I am extremely happy to be a part of this film. Filmmaker Papa Rao Biyala says, “I wanted to cast as many singers and actors as possible. I have cast a few more people like Bugs Bhargava in a role. When I saw Shaan recording a song in Ilaiyaraaja's studio, I was struck by his style, which is essential for the character. The character is a successful musician and singer. He will be seen in a pivotal role in the film which is of the ex-boyfriend of the heroine of the film."

Music School produced by Yamini Films is written by Papa Rao Biyala. Its story is about the pressure of the education system, in which children are assigned the goal of becoming doctors and engineers only by memorizing equations. The film will promote and support sports and the arts.

Composed by Ilaiyaraaja, the musical will be choreographed by Broadway choreographer Adam Murry. The film's supporting star cast includes Suhasini Mulay, Benjamin Gilani, Prakash Raj, Telugu comedians Brahmanandam, Vinay Varma, Mona Ambegaokar, Gracie Goswami and Ozu Barua. Cinematographer Kiran Deohans, best known for her work in the film Jodhaa Akbar, is a part of the film.
