Song Joong-Ki, “Queen of Tears,” Rolled In For A Special Cameo Appearance

The forthcoming romance K-drama Queen of Tears has cast South Korean star Song Joong-ki in a special cameo role. With his outstanding performances in movies and web series like Descendants of the Sun, Vincenzo, Hopeless, and Space Sweepers, Song Joong-ki has already captured the attention of the public. The public has been captivated by his appearance in the Kim Hee Won and Jang Young Woo-directed film. The first of Queen of Tears’ sixteen episodes is slated to air on tvN on March 9. tvN officially announced Song Joong-ki’s cast in the series on February 23. His function hasn’t been made public, however.

A source from Xportsnews claims that Song Joong-ki has finished filming his scene for Queen of Tears. The drama show’s representatives said, in reaction to the story, that “Song Joong-ki will make a special appearance in Queen of Tears.” According to Soompi, the actor chose to appear in the series in support of Kim Ji-won, his co-star from Descendants of the Sun, who would play the main actress in Queen of Tears. Kim Ji-won and Song Joong-ki collaborated on the 2019 television drama series Arthdal Chronicles. Actually, since 2022, the two superstars have worked under the same management company, HighZium Studio.

The central theme of Queen of Tears will be a married couple’s “miraculous, thrilling, and humorous love story.” They persevere in supporting one another through a catastrophe against all circumstances. Actor Kim Soo-hyun will play her on-screen spouse Baek Hyeon-woo, the legal director of the company, while Kim Ji-won will play the role of the “queen” wife Hong Hae-in, the heiress of the corporate conglomerate Queens Group. Park Ji-eun, well known for Crash Landing on You, The Producers, and My Love From the Star, wrote the screenplay for Queen of Tears.

In addition to Queen of Tears, Song Joong-ki is getting ready for the premiere of My Name Is Loh Kiwan, his next Netflix movie. Choi Sung-eun plays the main role in this heartfelt romantic drama, which is scheduled to air on March 1. In the film, Song Joong-ki portrays the title role of a North Korean defector who is attempting to get a refugee status and relocate to Belgium. He unexpectedly becomes friends with a strange lady who has experienced tragedy in her past.
