CBI is engaged in the investigation of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput case. On Monday, a hearing was held in the Bombay High Court regarding the media trial in this case. In which the court has said many things about media coverage. The court has asked media houses to exercise restraint during reporting in cases of suicide. Also, the reporting of two news channels has been called as defamatory.
The court has also reprimanded some media houses for trying to discredit the Mumbai Police. A bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Dutt and Justice GS Kulkarni heard the petition filed against the media trial in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput's death.
The bench said that due to media trial there is interference in giving justice as well as obstruction occurs. It also violates the Cable TV Network Regulation Act. The court further said that due to the interference of the media, the police got into trouble. Debates related to criminal investigations should be limited to informational reports only.
Sometime ago, the petition of Sushant's sisters was heard in Bombay High Court. Riya Chakraborty lodged an FIR against Sushant's sisters. In which he accused Sushant's sisters of his death. Which was later channeled by Sushant's sisters. Sushant's family lawyers attended the hearing.
Let us tell you that Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai home on 14 June. The three central agencies are engaged in the investigation of this case. Riya Chakraborty was arrested in Sushant Singh Rajput case in drugs case. She was jailed for about 1 month. After which he was released on bail by the Bombay High Court.
