Tamil actor Florent Pereira died due to covid-19 in a government hospital on Monday (14 September) in Chennai. He was 67 years old. According to reports, Florent tested positive for coronovirus a few weeks ago and has been hospitalized ever since. His health condition changed last week, he started having problems with breathing and succumbed to illness. The death of Florent Perera was a shock to the Tamil film fraternity.
It is being said that Florent attended a wedding last month and since then he was not feeling well. Acclaimed-director Seenu Ramasamy was one of the first people to share the news on Twitter. He shared a picture of the actor and wrote, "I can't believe that this film actor, good-hearted person Florent Perera, is no longer in this world. May God rest his soul."
Florent Perera was part of over 50 films in Tamil. He made his debut as an actor with Thalapathy Vijay's Puthiya Geethai and was later seen in Prabhu Solomon's films like Kayal, Kumki and Thodari. In 2017, three of his films Ram Ki Taramani, Dhanush's VIP 2 and Poduvaga Emanasu Thangam were released on the same day in August.
