The Crown's first-look pictures for season 6 include Meg Bellamy as Kate Middleton and Ed McVey as Prince William

Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy will play college-aged Prince William and Kate Middleton in the sixth season of "The Crown," which is now shooting in Saint Andrews, Scotland.

The pair met in 2001 while studying at the University of Saint Andrews, and photographers captured the actors shooting a scene on March 17 that seemed to be a prospective meet-cute, writes Variety

These are the photos from the initial look:

When William and Kate first met, tabloids have been excitedly following their romance. They were married at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011, after being engaged in November 2010. Prince George of Wales, Princess Charlotte of Wales, and Prince Louis of Wales are their three children.

This season, according to rumours, would centre on the Royal Family in the 1990s, including the passing of William's mother Princess Diana. While it is thought that they won't broadcast the actual moment of the death, they will show the events leading up to and after it.

According to a source who spoke with Variety, the production crew is really motivated "to do it right and manage (it) compassionately." The Crown stated that it will stop shooting on the day of Queen Elizabeth II's burial and halted on the day of her death in September 2022.

After his brother Prince Harry disclosed in his memoirs that William physically beat him after disparaging his wife, Meghan Markle, Prince William has come under criticism, according to Variety.

Harry said in his letter that William "grabbed me by the collar, tearing my necklace, and knocked me to the floor" after allegedly calling Markle "difficult," "rude," and "aggressive."
