Zeenat Aman has ptosis, an eye condition, and has surgery

On Tuesday, November 7, Zeenat Aman informed to her admirers that she had been diagnosed with ptosis, an eye condition that left many astonished and alarmed. The seasoned actress said that the ailment stems from a muscular injury she sustained many decades before, and she was admitted to the hospital in May of this year for therapy.

For the last forty years, there has been an elephant in the room with me. Time to give this elephant a leg up. My right eye’s surrounding muscles were harmed by an accident I had many years ago, which led to the development of ptosis. It made my eyelid drop more and more throughout the years. And it started to impair my eyesight a few years ago, according to Zeenat Aman’s writing.

The seasoned actress acknowledged that her illness was costing her chances and said, “It is hard to accept a significant change in one’s looks when one’s work is so heavily dependent on it. I have little doubt that this ptosis limited my options and attracted unwelcome attention. But I never felt lessened by it, in spite of the rumors, remarks, and inquiries. Naturally, it helped that there were always a few pillars in my team who stuck by me and continued to collaborate with me.

Furthermore, Zeenat Aman said that the therapies she was given were “unsuccessful.” But in April of this year, she received word from an ophthalmologist that “things had advanced.” I hesitated for a while before submitting to the process and going through a series of examinations. I was afraid at the hospital that morning. My body froze, and I started to shiver uncontrollably. After giving me a forehead kiss and offering me comfort, Zahaan wheeled me to the OT, where I gave myself up to my medical staff. After an hour, I came out of there looking like a pirate with an eye patch and feeling fine,” she said.

Despite her long recuperation, the actress ended, stating, “I’m happy to share that my vision is so much clearer now.”
