In the last 24 hours, once again more than 5 thousand corona cases of coronavirus infection were reported. 5383 new cases were registered in 24 hours. Now the total number of infected in the country has increased to 4 crores 45 lakh 58 thousand 425, while the total number of infected patients has come down from 46 thousand 342 to 45 thousand 281.

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Friday, the total number of deaths from corona has increased from 5 lakh 28 thousand 429 to 5 lakh 28 thousand 449. 20 more people died in the last 24 hours. Eight people are also included in these dead, whose names have been added by Kerala to the list of patients who lost their lives due to the global epidemic, re-matching the death toll due to infection.

A decrease of 1061 has been registered in the number of patients under treatment in 24 hours. At the same time, the national rate of recovery of patients has increased to 98.71 percent.

Corona infection rate in the country

According to the new data, the daily infection rate is 1.68 percent, while the weekly infection rate is 1.70 percent. So far, a total of 4 crores 39 lakh 84 thousand 695 people have become infection free in the country and the death rate from Kovid-19 is 1.19 percent. At the same time, 217.26 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccines have been given so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign.

The number of coronaviruses infected in the country exceeded 20 lakhs on 7th August 2020, 30 lakhs on 23rd August 2020, and 40 lakhs on 5th September 2020. The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020, and 90 lakh on 20 November.

On December 19, 2020, these cases exceeded one crore in the country. Last year, on May 4, the number of infected had crossed 20 million and on June 23, 2021, it had crossed 30 million. On January 25 this year, the cases of infection had crossed four crores. According to the ministry's data, 12 people died due to infection in India in the last 24 hours including 3 from Maharashtra and 1 each from Chhattisgarh, Goa, and Gujarat.
