Baddhakonasana is also known as Butterfly Pose. It is a very easy yoga posture, which helps reduce weight as well as relieve cramps and back pain during menstruation and pregnancy.
To practice this asana, first of all, sit on a mat.
Now bend both your knees outwards and join the soles of your feet together.
Now, take a deep breath and press your thighs and knees towards the floor, applying light pressure.
In slow motion, move both your legs like butterfly wings from the hip for about 60 seconds and then relax.
Practice this asana according to your ability.
Practicing this asana before sleeping can also be beneficial for you. Along with toning your lower body, it also makes it strong.
To practice this asana, first lie down on your back on the mat.
- Bend your legs at the knees and keep your feet hip-width apart.
Now, while inhaling try to lift your hips lightly.
- Exhale slowly and bring the hips back to the floor.
Repeat this action 10 times and then stay in this position for 1 minute.
Balasana relaxes your nervous system, due to which you get good sleep. Also, it helps in reducing weight. It helps reduce menstrual cramps, and PMS symptoms and improves blood circulation throughout the body.
First of all, sit on the mat with your knees bent.
Now bend forward from the waist and touch the floor by lowering your head in front.
During this, keep your hands on the floor by the side and relax your shoulders towards the floor.
Rest in this posture for 30 seconds to 1 minute. After that come back to the starting position.
