250 grams gram dal, cup tamarind juice, 2 onions finely chopped, 4 tomatoes, 3-4 green chilies, 1 inch piece ginger, 1 tsp chana masala, salt to taste, 1 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp roasted cumin, 1 tsp coriander powder, 2 tsp oil, chopped coriander leaves.

Boil the soaked gram dal in a cooker, let the boiled gram dal cool down. Heat oil in a pan, when the oil becomes hot, add cumin, coriander powder, chana masala, red chili powder, salt and fry for 1-2 minutes, now add ginger, chopped onion, green chili and tomato and keep stirring continuously. Now add tamarind juice to it. Add chana dal and cook for 5-6 minutes. Garnish with finely chopped onion slices and green coriander, serve with paratha or bread for breakfast.
